Command Prompt Options

Elipse Event Log Viewer can be used on a Command Prompt. The usage format to open log files is described next.

eelogviewer file1.etl[;file2.etl[;file3.etl]]

 

The format for executing commands is described next.

eelogviewer [- | /] [option]

 

The options for the option parameter are described on the next table.

 

NOTE

Some of the next commands must be executed with elevated privileges, by using the Run as Administrator option on Elipse Event Log Viewer's contextual menu.

 

Available options for the option parameter

Displays a message box with a help text about all Command Prompt options

install

Installs Elipse Event Log Viewer

uninstall

Uninstalls Elipse Event Log Viewer

q

Quiet mode. It does not display any dialog box with error messages

singleton

Prevents opening several instances of the same process in which Elipse Event Log Viewer is executing

resetwindows

Returns all settings for windows and columns of Elipse Event Log Viewer to their default

uiPlacement <value>

Defines how child windows of Elipse Event Log Viewer's main window are displayed. Possible values for the <value> argument are Empty: The child windows are opened on the last position they were opened, regardless of the monitor where Elipse Event Log Viewer's main window is currently located (default) or trackMainWindow: The child windows always open on the monitor where Elipse Event Log Viewer's main window is located. Please check the next note for more information about the behavior of this option

 

NOTE

Using the uiPlacement option does not open Elipse Event Log Viewer, only toggles between the available behaviors to open child windows of the main window. These behaviors are only effective the next time Elipse Event Log Viewer is opened.

 

When using the ? or help command on the Command Prompt of Elipse Event Log Viewer, the window on the next figure is displayed.
