Report Objects

A Report contains several specific objects that can be used, available on its toolbar. The available options on this toolbar are described on the next table.

Available options on the toolbar of a Report

Description

Load RPX File Load RPX File

Imports a Report configuration from an external file

Save as RPX File Save as RPX File

Exports a Report configuration to an external file

Select Select

Enables a selection mode

Bring to Front Bring to Front

Sends an object to the front of another object. The selected object is placed on the first position in the layer order

Send to Back Send to Back

Sends an object to the back of another object. The selected object is placed on the last position in the layer order

Line Line

Basic straight line object that connects any two points. It allows drawing lines, by specifying two points when creating it or in polygons

Rectangle Rectangle

This object allows drawing rectangles, using the whole object's width or height. It is created by using at least two vertexes

Round Rectangle Round Rectangle

A Rectangle created by using two vertexes with an option of rounding its edges by using a round factor. When inserted or edited, it shows a small point next to its upper left edge, which allows modifying that round factor

Ellipse Ellipse

This object allows drawing circles and ellipses, by using the whole object's width or height, and by defining the center of the circle at rectangle's center

Picture Picture

This object allows displaying images stored in files, whether they are inside or outside the application file

Text Text

Allows creating a text. When defining the area on a Screen, users can directly type a text, which also accepts multiple lines

SetPoint SetPoint

By using this object, users can link it to a table field in a Database. This field is specified by the DataField property

Check Box Check Box

Allows inserting a Boolean data type, which may or may not be bound to a Database

BarCode BarCode

Allows generating a picture that converts a sequence of numbers and characters into a bar code. This code is a numerical or alphanumerical representation, used to facilitate different processes. This code is recognized by scanners and optical-reading devices

Page Break Page Break

Sets a point where a page finishes and another one starts on a Report. For example, users can force a page break to force a chapter title to always start on a new page

Frame Frame

This is an object composed by rows and columns, where text or charts are inserted. Frames on Reports are used to organize and display information. Users can also use Frames to create page layouts

E3Chart E3Chart

This object is used to view Report data in a graphical format.

 

NOTE

The Printer option on E3 Server icon on Windows Notification Area displays a list of printers found either locally or remotely, and allows users to select one for use by an E3 Server.
