Measurement to Indicate Operation by Shedding

As a way of registering shutdowns caused by load shedding operations, any Breaker's IED that can operate due to the occurrence of a Load Shedding Scenario must have a Discrete Measurement that report this event. This allows generating alarms and records in the SOE to provide post-operation analysis. This can be a generic indication, only indicating that the Breaker opened by a shedding operation, or a generic indication, that indicates which Scenario occurred to trigger device's opening.

Elipse Power provides a *LoadSheddingOperate-type of Discrete Measurement to indicate this type of event. This Measurement can be instantiated on the Measurements folder of the Breaker (a generic indication of operation), as well as on the Measurements folder of the Scenario (a specific indication of operation). On this Measurement users must create an alarm, with event registration on database, so that the operation sequence can be checked.

It is also important that Scenario-triggering events, such as shutting down a power source, be registered in the SOE. This allows checking the total time spent by the system from detecting the disturbance to the full shutdown of Loads. It is important to notice that, for a reliable analysis, all IEDs must have their internal clocks properly synced.
