The first step in the process of creating a new Load Shedding application in Elipse Power is to identify all elements and devices that compose the electrical system to control. During this step, a developer must gather all relevant information about the system, its one-line diagrams, names of electrical network components, and the interconnections among them.

It is important to notice that this electrical model must truly represent the controlled plant, as it is the base for simulations at run time that determine the set of loads to select for shedding. The electrical modeling screen is displayed on the next figure.
