Mapping Abstract Services |
The IEC 61850 Standard specifies communication models for data exchange, with or without priority, called ACSI (Abstract Communication Service Interface), which help defining the services provided, according to the next groups.
•Client-Server Model Types: This model performs a grouping of a set of oriented services, whose main actions are access to information, automatic notification of information, syncing, command, file transfer, and sequence of events. In this type there is no time restriction, using all layers up to the link layer
•Event Communication Models: Initially oriented to the implementation of applications such as transmitting sampled values, sending data among several IEDs and protection, where time is considered critical, mapped directly to the link layer, by using a peer-to-peer multicast communication among IEDs, that is, exchanging information at the same hierarchical level
After defining the abstract communication services, users can perform a mapping of communication services for the next types.
•Client/Server: ACSI core services using a set of MMS protocols
•Time Sync: To perform a time syncing with the SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol) protocol
•Sample Values (SV): Sampled values, such as current and voltage of transformers
•GOOSE (Generic Object Oriented Substation Event) or GSSE (Generic Substation Status Event): Messages belonging to the GSE (Generic Substation Event) class
