Production Lines

Production Lines define the layout of a plant, detailing the physical disposition of the workstations that execute the productive process.

Each component of a Production Line has a name and a type, which can be Default, Transportation, or Buffer. A Default-type workstation executes one or more Processes, aggregating value to a Product or to a batch of Products, one at a time. The Transportation type, on the other hand, only computes moving items, and has a defined time and capacity. Finally, the Buffer type is a component that stores the work in progress in a Production Line, usually around production bottlenecks, and does not have a defined time to remain in that step.
