Modeling

Modeling is a fundamental step for the elements of a production system, such as the layout of lines on the plant floor and the structures of processes and products, to be mapped to Elipse F4, allowing a simulation in a virtual environment. Digitalizing a plant floor through these models is also described in Industry 4.0 as Digital Twin. This concept of simulating a plant floor environment brings some benefits, such as predictability of risks and earnings, flexibility, cost savings, and diversity of portfolio.

In Elipse F4, modeling can be performed in a visual way, using the Elipse F4 Portal module, or using a REST API by sending HTTP requests. In this last case, users can also use the ETL module, a tool that performs routines to collect, transform, and load data from different sources.
