During the installation of EPM Server, the EPM Engine module is also installed. This module is responsible for all communication between EPM Server and SQL Server and also provides a set of Functions and Stored Procedures that can be used on queries performed in SQL (Structured Query Language) language for direct access to data stored on a database.
