Defining Scripts

The language used by E3 for its scripts is VBScript, a subset of Visual Basic language, developed by Microsoft. VBScript contains a fast, light, and portable interpreter, developed for browsers and other applications using ActiveX Controls, Automation Servers, and Java Applets. Scripts are always linked to events of a specific object. However, for an easy and fast development, E3 already incorporates some common actions that could be handled by scripts via assistants (wizards) called Picks. Users can define whether a certain event executes a script, a Pick, or a combination of both, in a sequence defined during script creation in E3 Studio.
