Alarm Sources

Alarm Sources define all information regarding alarm conditions. In each Alarm Source, users can configure its limits, a message regarding an event and its severity, as well as whether this event needs acknowledgment or not. All Alarm Sources have general properties described on the next table.

General properties for Alarm Sources

Description

Message text

This is a text linked to that alarm condition, which appears on a view object (E3Alarm), a Database, etc. It can contain up to 255 text characters

Severity

Indicates an alarm severity, which can be Low, Medium, or High. A severity is used for filtering and sorting messages

Need Ack

Indicates that this alarm must be acknowledged by an operator to be removed from an E3Alarm's alarm list, or else if it is automatically acknowledged when a variable leaves an alarm condition

Return message

Whenever an Alarm Source leaves an alarm condition, this message is displayed on view objects
