Storage

A Storage is a historical E3 module developed to improve database usage, allowing a certain information to be stored by occupying the smallest possible space.

There is a whole set of specific functionality for this module, such as pre-built queries and data compression algorithms, among others. By using this tool, users can accurately recover all changes to process variables, while occupying a minimum space in a database.

Using a Storage is strongly recommended for processes where the goal is to follow trends that need to preserve essential process information. By using a mathematical algorithm widely spread, a Storage can provide relevant information about a certain process occupying less disk space than data stored by a Historic recorded periodically.

In processes where data must be precise, such as measurements used for input billing (water, energy, or gas), or processes where data must be paid up by period, using a conventional Historic is recommended.
