Using Oracle as a Database server for E3 is only possible when an Oracle server or client is installed in the machine where an E3 Server is executing. This installation must contain OCI (Oracle Call Interface) support and OLEDB Provider for Oracle, required for communication between E3 and Oracle. Accessing an Oracle database can be performed in two ways, either by accessing an Oracle Database from E3 or via scripts. Each one of these procedures are explained on the next topics.
