The [P] configuration parameters are not used and must be left in 0 (zero). Configurations must be performed on the properties window of this Driver. When added to an application, this Driver is loaded with a default configuration of extra parameters for the serial port, that is, baud rate of 9600 bps, 8 (eight) data bits, 1 (one) stop bit, and no parity.

Possibly the address of the serial port has to be changed to the one users must establish communication, such as COM2, COM3, and so on. The time-out is also defined in 1000 ms, but that configuration is rather arbitrary relative to the requirements of an application. For other physical layers, the configuration of extra parameters must be carefully observed to meet communication requirements.
