Preparing a Device

The next modes to connect a Slave computer with a Master device are available:

Via TER Terminal Port or AUX Terminal Port: A TER port can be used with devices that do not have their own power supply, and an AUX port with devices with their own power supply, that is, by using a programming cable. As an option, users can use a TSXPACC01 junction box, which allows two devices to access another device, such as Elipse E3 or Elipse SCADA and a local HMI. This junction box is also necessary to connect a TSX device to an UniTelway link when the distance between devices is greater than 10 meters, and also to connect a TSX device in Slave mode. It is not recommended, however, using old communication cables, specially a TSXPCU1031 PV 01 (first release) cable, because according to performed tests, they operate with a poor performance compared to newer cables, due to the need of switching the RTS via software and not automatically (toggle), as recommended

Via a TSXACP114 PCMCIA Card: Along with the previous options, users can also use a TSXSCA50 box, which performs an impedance match when installed at the end of the line, and the TSXSCA62 box, used for encoding addresses of connected devices, and also for matching impedance
