Configuring Driver Properties

The SNP tab contains specific configurations for this Driver. The available options on this tab are described on the next table.

SNP Timers (milliseconds)

Parameter

Description

Minimum Turn-Around Time (T1)

After receiving a message, this Driver or a PLC must wait this minimum time of turn-around before sending a message

Acknowledgement Timeout (T2)

This is the maximum time that this Driver or a PLC must wait for the acknowledgment of a message sent before assuming the loss of a connection due to a lack of response

Link Keep-Alive Time (T3)

Period of time this Driver sends an automatic message to a PLC to prevent a remote disconnection from that PLC due to a lack of activity in communication

Break Processing Time (T4)

After sending a message, this is the minimum time that this Driver must wait, that is, the time for a PLC to process the received message, before sending a new message to a PLC

 

SNP Protocol

Parameter

Description

Uses Break-Free SNP

This option must be selected if the firmware of a PLC supports communication with the Break-Free SNP feature

Uses Modem Turn-Around Time

Time to add to the T1 Timer when communication involves a modem between this Driver and a PLC

 

Initial Privilege Level

90-30 Series PLCs

Defines the level of access privileges to PLCs of 90-30 Series. For more information, please check the next table

90-70 Series PLCs

Defines the level of access privileges to PLCs of 90-70 Series. For more information, please check the next table

Password

A password that may be required to reach a certain level of access privileges to a PLC

No permission to write to memory. Only allows performing memory readings

0 (only for 90-70 Series)
