All configurations for a physical layer, such as serial port to use, baud rate, and stop bits or, if TCP/IP is used, the host name or IP address and TCP/IP port must be configured on the IOKit configuration window, on the Setup, Serial, Ethernet, Modem, and RAS tabs.

Numerical parameters P1, P2, P3, and P4 are not used and must remain in 0 (zero, default value).
