This configuration allows a connection with more than one Hitachi PLC. For this, use an RS-485 network as shown on the next figure.
PLC network with COMM modules
Hitachi provides several models of COMM modules allowing this type of network configuration, such as Comm-H, Pil-H, and Actinet-S. Addressing, in this case, is via Office Number, which represents the station number on the network. For more information, please check topic Tag Reference.

The COMM module must be configured to work with a Station Number, because this is how this Driver communicates. This Station Number is also known as Office Number. The communication parameters of this module must be 1 (one) stop bit, 7 (seven) data bits, even parity, and compatible baud rate. |
