Starting with version 2.0 of this Driver, all configurations for the serial port are performed on the Serial tab of the configuration window.

The Festo FestoFST200 Driver, when included in a new application project, is loaded with the default configuration for extra parameters of serial ports, that is, speed of 9600 bps, 8 (eight) data bits, and 1 (one) stop bit without parity. These configurations match the definitions of FST 200 protocol of FPC 405 devices, and initially do not need any change regarding these devices. Maybe the address of the serial port should be changed to the one that users want to establish a communication, such as COM2 or COM3. The time-out is already defines as 1000 ms, but this is rather arbitrary regarding the requirements of an application.

For other Festo devices and interfaces, the configuration for extra parameters must be carefully observed to match communication requirements.
