The [P] configuration parameters of this Driver are not used. All configurations are performed on the configuration window, on the Setup and Serial tabs. For more information about the IOKit library, please check topic Documentation of I/O Interfaces.

When included in an Elipse E3, Elipse Power, or Elipse Water application, this Driver is loaded with the default configuration for serial port COM1, that is, speed of 9600 bps, 8 (eight) data bits, 2 (two) stop bits, and no parity check. These settings already match the definitions informed on the documentation of a dataPond 85 device.

Possibly the address of the serial port can be changed to the address in which users want to establish communication, that is, COM2, COM3, and so on. The time-out is also defined as 1000 ms, but this value is fairly arbitrary relative to an application's demands.
